With 10 locations around the New York area we serve more paintball players than anyone else in the world. However, it not our size but our commitment to our customer that sets us apart.

Dean Del Prete and Paul Sattler, owners of Cousins Paintball and actual cousins, started playing paintball in 1986. It didn?t take long after there first game for both Cousins to realize paintball was a great sport. Paintball was fun, exciting and safe but there were not many places to play and nowhere to get equipment.

Having grown up in a family of entrepreneurs. It didn?t take long for them to see an opportunity. Let?s open a store where people can buy paintball supplies. They converted there existing business on Udall rd in West Islip, NY into one of the first paintball stores in the country. As avid paintball players, Dean and Paul quickly gained a reputation for knowledgeable and friendly service. There first store was a huge success.

One of the biggest challenges in the early days was that there weren?t any professionally run paintball fields in the area. Many customers that played at organized fields would simple stop playing. Again, Dean & Paul saw a void. They knew that to have a successful store you needed to provide a great place to play. A place that friendly, safe and most of all was fun. 5 years later they took over the only field on Long Island.

The field business was great. People played and had fun. As more people played, more people shopped at there stores. A business idea was created. Provide a fun, friendly, safe place for people to have fun. Then add some retails stores with professional and knowledge staff. A simple plan that has created 10 locations in the New York area.

It all started with an idea and a post in a paintball forum. The rest is Animal Paintball History.

Animal Paintball started with a crazy idea. Lets give the people what they want. At the Mardi Gras Open in 1999, Mondo and Rosey went to Louisiana to compete with team "Texas DiamondbaX". Each of the team members had just dropped easily about $85 each on our new "JT" jerseys with custom lettering. When we got to the event, we saw that about 20 other teams had the exact same jersey. We even played 2 teams with the exact same setup. Imagine our disappointment, to spend so much money and end up looking like everybody else.

Mondo, being upset told Rosey and the rest of his team that he saw a nitch in the market and was going to take advantage of it. Mondo and Rosey had been saving for a new house and decided to use that money to start "Animal Paintball". We purchased 900 jerseys from a jersey manufacturer and imagined that we would be wearing these jerseys for years to come if they did not sell. Well we sold out in 3 months.

Animal Paintball evolved into 2 brand names to accommodate all our customers. Animal Paintball and Animal Customs now leads the way in custom jerseys in the paintball, BMX and soon the soccer and hockey world.

Animal has grown into a huge success. It is hard to open a paintball magazine that does not feature our jerseys and / or products being showcased. Our products have also been on major television stations, such as MTV, FOX, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, The Weather Network, TSN, Wild TV, WGN, Outdoor Life Network, FSN, CNN, College Sports TV, Telemundo, Univision, and E! Last but not least, we have several Animal and BunkerFest fields that are playable in the new X-Box games, "Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball", the sequel "GHTP MAX'D" and B-Real's Music Video (pictured below).
