Installing 468 Bolt
« on: May 30, 2013, 01:24:18 PM »
Hope I've got the right area for this, as there really isnt a 468 board yet.

The problem is this:
I sent my T68 in to be upgraded before they had the bolt upgrade package ready
They sent it back as what I guess is a "pseudo-468", meaning it didnt have the upgraded bolt or the Dmag well.
I finally get the upgrade kit and go to install the new bolt only to find that some "technician" decided it was a good idea to wedge the receiving hole piece for the front takedown pin to the bolt tighter than Excalibur in the rock.

Culprit bolt, stuck piece is the one with the tiny tactical rail jutting out of it:

New bolt:

It looks as if said "technician" wedged some kind of stopper up underneath the part.
I've tried everything to dislodge both the part and the stopper to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas? They dont even sell this part as a replacement.
Said stopper:

The following is an email I sent regarding this issue and it worked surprisingly easily. See Below.

Hello Chris,

The stopper I believe you are talking about is just pressure fitted to keep it from moving. The only way to get that piece off is to take a rubber mallet and tap the piece back and forth to jimmy it loose and after tapping several times it will come loose.
