"5 years of planning have brought us to this point."
Says an average looking man standing at the head of a table in a darkened apartment living room.
"In just a few short weeks all our hard work will pay off and they will never see it coming."
Hushed mumbling blankets the room, and the nameless man raises his hand. The others quickly fall silent. "As usual, dont contact me or each other. Ill send for you when Im ready."
The men gathered themselves and quietly left the apartment, leaving no trace they were ever there.
10:45am A mechanic is changing spark plugs in a performance coupe. A high school teacher is grading papers during a free period. An alarm technician finishes repairing a warehouse security system. One phone call triggers a pager for each of them, and a dozen others. Without an explanation each of them walk away and disappear into the crowded city.
5 years earlier and 3500 miles away:
The civil war torn country of Khazbakistan has suffered a major blow. A massive earthquake has plunged the country into chaos. With little other options, the reclusive government opens its borders to western humanitarian aid. The UN and NATO have been trying to infiltrate this country for years and take down the warlords who have built their empires on the backs of the very people they seek to rule. Now with the borders open for the first time in years, the US is leading a UN backed mission to take down the Sand Spider. Two platoons were sent in under the false pretense of being UN aid workers.
After a few days inside the country the US forces had The Sand Spider targeted for elimination. The Sand Spider however, has other plans and managed to sneak away before meeting an early demise. Even without capturing or killing the Sand Spider the people of Khazbakistan have begun to take back their country. The Sand Spider watches from afar as his empire falls, promising himself that one day revenge would be his.
